It is with great delight that I send this email to you today as I begin to project what is next for my story.
My mind and my heart have been captured by the idea of finishing well. As I get ready to come to the end of the 2018 year, as well as the end of my sabbatical, I have been reflecting on what I still want to enjoy, what needs to change, and ultimately what will be required to accomplish those desires by year-end.
In the past, my yearly practice focused on reflection of the past months in order for new-year goals to be established when January 1 rolled around.
Often times I found great energy and passion at the beginning of the year because it was an opportunity to start all over on what I failed to accomplish in the previous year. As a result of my asking the Lord for discernment on my daily activities, I have had a strong sense to approach my reflection time in a new way.
You see, the last three months of 2018 have the potential to be the BEST months EVER if we take the time to reflect on what is, and then what could be. The greatest challenge we each face will be making the important adjustments now in order for our desires to be accomplished when the new year begins.
Over the last 9 months, I have been on a beautiful journey that has been led by the Lord through Ruth Haley Barton from The Transforming Community.
I have been learning about Liminal Spaces – the space that I occupy between the “now” and the “next.” I am learning that this “not yet” space can either be a sacred period filled with great delight in waiting and listening for God’s voice OR it can be a space filled with anxiety, frustration, and fear. I am learning and experiencing specific sacred practices that are shaping my soul and, as a result, are helping me live with greater intention and sweet delight on a daily basis, even when the days are hard.
I am preparing now for the new Legacy Principles environments that will begin in January.
Over the next few weeks, I will be sharing some of things the Lord has been teaching me that I will be teaching in my new environments. I will also be posting words of encouragement on social media, so be on the lookout for that as well.
Know this: I have missed YOU! I would love to have you join me on this new journey of reflection and intention as we close the 2018 year.
Spend time asking GOD where you are in the journey from Now to What’s Next. I hope this one idea will bring enjoyment and intention and that you too will finish 2018 with great strength and even greater delight.
Here is to the BEST MONTHS EVER!
